2013 Specialized Enduro – the ultimate gravity enduro machine?

The Specialized Enduro has always been a top all-mountain ride – now the Californian company want to make it a world-beating race bike, too. They’ve given it a bit of nip-and-tuck for 2013, with the aim of creating the ultimate gravity enduro machine. We’ve got to say, it’s also looking sexy as hell in its new red and black colourway.

These are the key changes for 2013:

  • Same ’X-Wing’ frame design but suspension layout has been reconfigured to give a more responsive feel and minimise wallow under power
  • New Stumpjumper-style shock shuttle mounts directly to bottom of shock. Cartridge bearings are used throughout instead of DU bushes, improving durability and sensitivity
  • Rear travel increased by 5mm, to 165mm (6.5in)
  • Shorter head tube
  • Internal routing for a dropper seatpost
  • PF30 bottom bracket
  • Alloy models inherit the AutoSag system debuted on the Stumpjumper this year
  • Top-end, carbon fibre S-Works version seen here comes with SRAM’s new XX1 11-speed transmission and weighs just 25.9lb/11.8kg
