2013 Ghost Cagua – a wolf in sheep’s clothing?
Here at ChopMTB, we’re big fans of Germany’s quietly brilliant Ghost Bikes. Underneath their relatively simple four-bar looks lurks some quality detailing and great value speccing.
Hidden within a brace of subtly different 2013 models at Eurobike we spotted the new Cagua, which reminded us a bit of Michael Douglas in Falling Down – politely dressed but packing a machine gun.
There’s a Fox 36 TALAS fork up front adjustable between 140 and 180mm, 650B wheels (what else?!) and a Cane Creek DBAIR rear shock. The top model even comes with RockShox’s new electronic EI shock.
Don’t let the Cagua’s XC bike looks fool you – we can see the Ghost happily mixing it up with DH bikes on an uplift day, and we can’t wait to give it a try.

It’s not just the press and dealers checking out the new bikes at Eurobike – manufacturers like to keep tabs on their rivals too. With his digital callipers and camera, this guy wasn’t being very subtle!
