Something for the weekend #11

Chop’s been online for 11 weeks and to celebrate, we’ve allowed some bike vids to sneak into our Friday round-up. These aren’t our usual, adrenaline-fuelled fare though… On top of that, we’ve got small kids getting hurt, men playing music with their muscles, a nasty moto crash and more.

Why pedal when you can scoot?

Er, because it’s a hell of a lot easier, doesn’t involve strapping yourself into a cross between a hobby horse and a bondage chair, and doesn’t look totally stupid? Also, as one poster on YouTube puts it, “I don’t see a whole lot wrong with it, other than it seems that your ENTIRE WEIGHT is being supported by your balls.”

World’s smallest bike

Who needs a folding bike when you can buy one that fits in your pocket? Not sure the full roadie Lycra horrorshow is warranted though.

Turns out that the Russian who posted this clip on YouTube actually nicked it from a video shot in Melbourne, Australia in 2005 for Topbike. You can watch the unedited version below… (from 1:12)

Ragdoll moto crash

There are times, normally when sweating our way up a hill, that we really wish our bikes had engines. Then we see something like this.

Concrete football prank

This one’s just mean. They’re little kids, for Chrissakes! That didn’t stop us laughing though…

Old Spice muscle man music

Sadly we can’t embed this one but it’s worth clicking on the picture and following the link. When you get to the end, do what the man says and hit some keys. A, [, N and Z-X-C are our favourites!

Wizard Smoke

Remember GT Factory Racing’s launch video, with yellow dust flying everywhere? Maybe this skateboarding edit was the vid that inspired it.

Nightfall in LA

Time to slow things down now and ease you into the weekend. Los Angeles is famous for many things – plastic celebrities, drug-addled rock stars, dodgy ‘hoods with a crack dealer on every corner… One thing it’s not known for is being a place of great beauty, but this wonderful little time-lapse clip from Colin Rich could change your mind.
