New Contour+2 helmet cam – the best Contour yet, but it’s no GoPro killer
This is Contour’s latest salvo in the helmet cam war, the Contour+2. It’s got a waterproof case, a load of new features and 120fps filming – twice the rate of the benchmark GoPro HD HERO2. So, will it blow the GoPro out of the water? Unlikely. It costs $100 more and GoPro plan to introduce 120fps filming with a firmware upgrade.
The Contour cam still looks like a decent alternative though, with some neat features including one-button recording, Bluetooth connectivity so you can use your smartphone as a viewfinder, easy sharing to YouTube, Vimeo and Facebook (with GPS overlays if desired) and a tweaked sensor that should handle low light better.
