Red Bull Rampage 2012 will be ‘sickest freeride comp on the planet’, say riders

The Red Bull Rampage isn’t for wimps. The area near Zion National Park, Utah is renowned for its steep cliffs and narrow gullies – perfect terrain for a big-mountain freeride event, but you don’t get many second chances if you screw up!

The sickest riders from around the world will return next month to build their lines down these gnarly mountain faces. They won’t come alone – they’ll bring their buds to help sculpt a line down, over or through the ridges. Some share tools, ideas and lines, but the one thing they all share is a passion for big-mountain riding.

Some will stand at the bottom, looking up in awe of where they’ll try to ride. Others will look down from the top in fear that they may not even make it down in one piece. One thing is for sure – somebody will throw down and be crowned King of the Mountain!

So, how do the riders themselves feel about the Rampage? “Fired up”, “scared” and “stoked to be a part of such a rad event”! Turn the page to find out more…
