Red Bull Rampage 2012: The Oakley Icon Sender is back and it looks insane!

We heard the Oakley Icon Sender would be making a comeback at this year's Red Bull Rampage and read about its construction on Redbull.com but it's not until you see someone launch off it – in this case Logan Binggeli – that you realise just how big that drop is. And come Sunday's finals, riders are going to be tricking off this thing! Mental.

This year's Sender has a choice of three lines – the main drop under the looming figure of 'Josh', Oakley's intimidating horned skull; a second line that exits to the left after some bermed North Shore boardwalk; and a third option that's set further back from the cliff edge. All of them look appropriately insane. And yep, those are 650b wheels Binggeli's running on his KHS.

Of course, Rampage isn't just about one bit of woodwork. Check out some more course features below. Remember, you can watch the 2012 Red Bull Rampage live on Redbull.com at 8pm BST/1pm MST/9pm CET on Sunday.

Line choice is critical – too safe and you won't make the podium, but that's better than crashing your brains out! Picture by Christian Pondella/Red Bull Content Pool
