Exclusive: Troy Lee Designs confirm they’re working on a new trail helmet

It’s the news Troy Lee Designs fans have been waiting for – the company are going to produce a half-shell trail helmet. There are no pictures yet, but Mr Troy Lee himself has confirmed that testing has already started.

“This is the first time I’ll have talked about it,” he told us. “It’s pretty damn close. We’re just making a couple of little fine tunes and riding it for the last couple of months. It’s going to be another exciting adventure.

“We’ve been working on it for about three years now. It came about because, more often than not, it’s what we do, that sort of riding. I mostly go out and ride cross-country and try to rip some downhills
on the way back.”

Troy Lee’s D2 and D3 full-faces are stone-cold classics and we’d sell our own mothers for a now-discontinued D2 Open Face, so we can’t wait to see what the new lid looks like…
