Cam Cole joins Yeti, and Jared Graves switches to enduro

The rumours were true – ex-Lapierre rider Cam Cole has joined Yeti-Fox Shox for 2013. And there’s some other big news from the team – four-cross ace Jared Graves is making the switch to enduro racing.

Cam Cole on Yeti

After sharing the limelight with Sam Blenkinsop and Loic Bruni on the Lapierre squad, Cam Cole will now be top dog on Yeti, though he’ll have US racer Richie Rude for company on the World Cup circuit.

The 24-year-old from Christchurch, New Zealand will be hoping to build on his 11th place finish in this year’s downhill series, as well as competing in selected gravity enduro events. He’ll be riding the Yeti 303 DH and SB-66 Carbon, and helping with development of new bikes.

Yeti posted on their Twitter feed: “Looking forward to good things with this big Kiwi fellow. Welcome to the team.” Writing on his Facebook fan page, Cole said: “Not much to say… Bring on 2013.”

Graves switches to enduro

Jared Graves totally dominated four-cross before it was dropped from the World Cup series last year – the former BMX racer won the World Cup overall three times and was world champ in 2009. But the Australian’s forced move to downhill failed to set the world alight, so the switch to enduro racing seems like a sensible one.

He may have got married at the weekend, but we can’t see Graves slowing down any time soon. We can’t wait to see him banging bars with his old four-cross rival Dan Atherton at events like the Megavalanche!
