Renthal Lock-On grips – Best bikes and gear of 2012

Tyres come in varying compounds for different riding styles and conditions, so why shouldn’t grips? That’s Renthal’s thinking, applied successfully to their Push-On grips and now to these Lock-On versions too. That’s not the only reason they’ve made it onto our ‘Best bikes and gear of 2012’ wishlist, though. They’re the perfect size for our paws, and don’t develop any twist over time like some other lock-ons we’ve used.

Why we like them:

  • Choice of four rubber compounds (Medium, Soft, Kevlar, Super Comfort)
  • Decent length (135mm)
  • Slim, but not too slim (30mm diameter)
  • Grippy diamond knurl pattern
  • Ramped ends so there’s no abrupt transition between grip and collar
  • Locking collars are integrated with central core of grip

RRP: £22 / £25 (Kevlar)
