Cedric Gracia signs new deal with hardtail gurus Production Privee

Injury-hit French downhill renegade Cedric Gracia has signed a new deal with Andorran hardtail upstarts Production Privée – but before you think Santa Cruz have given him the boot, we should point out it’s a product development contract, not a race sponsorship package. And that’s a good thing too – we can’t see CG making too many World Cup podiums on a hardtail!

It’s PP’s (sounds much funnier in a French accent!) components, not their bikes, that he’ll be helping to refine. They’ve kitted out Cedric’s CG Racing Brigade team with bars and stems for the past couple of years, and they also make headsets, BBs and offset shock bushings. Check out what CG has to say about the deal in the video below. It’s awesome to see him back on the bike after last year’s horrific crash.

So, who are these Production Privée fellas? They’re two former Commencal R&D guys who decided to set up their own business back in 2010. They’re best known for the Shan 917 – a steel all-mountain hardtail designed to take a 150-160mm fork. More info at www.production-privee.com. Their kit is available in the UK through Diverse Distribution.
