Ghost towns, guns and shredding the gnar – a mountain bike roadtrip through the American West

This video starts off with a nasty stack at Red Bull Rampage but don’t worry if you’re sick of seeing that red Utah dirt – it’s not long before Mike Hopkins and the Absolute Zero crew pack their bags and head off on the roadtrip of a lifetime through the American West, stopping off to hit Oregon’s Black Rock trails en route. This video’s more travelogue than all-action bike movie but it perfectly captures that roadtrip vibe.

“In total, we’d travelled more than 7,000km (4,400 miles), processed inconceivable quantities of roadside cheeseburgers, slept under the Nevada stars on the roof of the truck, poached multiple campsite showers, accidentally drove the wrong way on a six-lane highway in a full-sized RV, slept in the crater of a volcano, lost a camera to the torrential rains and gone from summer to winter all in the span of just over three weeks.”
