Helicams, hucks and slow-mo footage – get above the action with Shifted Cinema

Gone are the days of needing a pilot and a film crew to be able to get decent aerial shots – remote controlled helicopters have got more affordable, allowing us to get a bird’s eye view from above the action. Shifted Cinema are one company taking advantage of this.

Based in America’s Pacific Northwest, they film everything from snowball fights to the Seattle skyline. Most recently, they’ve been out and about on the trails of Leavenworth, Washington capturing some sweet shreds, hucks and slow-motion goodness using their eye in the sky.

The tech heads out there might like to know that Shifted Cinema used a Sony NEX-FS700 camera for this edit, which films at up to 240fps for that sweet slow-mo action. They used a regular remote controlled helicopter this time, but fly a DJI Hexacopter too – to see some of their other equipment and videos, head over to the Shifted Cinema Facebook Page.
