Dartmoor – you’ve watched the vids, now check out the bike bits!
Today we’re talking Dartmoor. Not the British moorland overrun with escaped convicts and big cats but the Polish bike brand. They’ve been pumping out some quality web edits recently so we figured it was about time we took a look at some of their kit.
First though, here’s team rider Marcel Hunt with a quick morning street session:
It’s street/dirt/slopestyle riding that Dartmoor are best known for, thanks to up-and-coming riders like Marcel, Szymon Godziek and Ryan Nangle. But that’s not all they’re into – new for 2013 are downhill and freeride bars, flat pedals and some hardcore rolling stock. Check out the photos to find out more.
The new Revolt rim is aimed at gravity riders of all persuasions, from downhillers to street riders
There’s no problem fitting high-volume rubber to this badboy – it’s a whopping 27mm wide (internal)
Made of 6066-T6 aluminium, it comes in a choice of five colours
The Revolt-Pro hub boasts 30-point engagement courtesy of six big pawls. Sealed bearings help keep the crud at bay
All-aluminium construction keeps weight down, and it comes in a full range of sizes (150×12, 135/145×12, 135x10mm)
Dartmoor’s new Nitro bar comes in two versions. This is the DH, with a 0.5in rise and 5° of upsweep
This is the FR, with a 1.5in rise and 4° upsweep. Both are 780mm wide, with 9° of backsweep
They’re made from 7075 aluminium, and available in black, red, white or orange
This is Dartmoor’s tiny CNC-machined Micron stem, available in black or red
It’s nice and neat but it’s got an old-school 25.4mm bar clamp so it’ll only work with skinny jump bars
Dartmoor’s Fever V.2 pedals have a longer axle for 2013, to give a wider riding stance
The platform is quite small (90x100mm) so they’re probably better suited to dirt jumpers than clod-footed downhillers
The wavy profile is unusual, but eight pins per side should give plenty of grip. They come in black, red, blue and silver
Dartmoor don’t just sell parts – they’ve got 13 frames in their MTB line-up too, ranging from full-suspension bike park bruisers to all-mountain hardtails. Here’s a quick look at Marcel Hunt’s Dartmoor Cody. More info at dartmoor-bikes.com / www.slam69.co.uk (UK distributor).
